Beauty in…

Christmas

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Isaiah 9:6 NIV

For all Christians, there are two holidays that have great significance, Christmas and Easter. The first signifies not only the birth of our Savior but prophesy fulfilled! The Old Testament points toward Christ from the beginning and now, here we are…God incarnate. I can only image what those times were like. The confusion, the realization and the JOY!

If you are not a Christian, I pray you take the first step by simply opening up a Bible and start reading. You’ll have questions, we all have and do, so make notes, ask questions and seek out counsel from those who are rooted in THE truth.

If you are a Christian, Merry Christmas! I hope you have a joyous season and take time to reflect upon the coming of our Lord!

Beauty in…

I’ve been toying around lately about what to do with the blog/website. I was fully prepared to just let it go as I was tired of just posting product information. I mean, how many times can I talk about face wash or eyeshadow? I love the products I sell, but there had to be more. So after some reflection I’ve decided to keep this site but change the direction.

There is beauty everywhere. But maybe sometimes we need to have a reminder about what beauty is, how it can affect us, and who brings that beauty. There is beauty in the common places and the uncommon. That’s what I’d like to share.

It’s December and, for me, this month beauty is always in the waiting. As Christians we anticipate Christ’s birth. As a mid-Westerner, Winter is a waiting period until Spring comes once again. And even as an employee and business owner we see business slow and the year start to wrap up in anticipation of another year of goal setting and achievement. I also have the unique perspective of ending each year with my birthday. I literally get to start a new book of my life at the end of each year, which I love.

Waiting doesn’t have to be dreaded, or feared, or mundane. We can wait with anticipation and excitement, knowing that God will be there with us minute by minute.

Psalm 40 1-4 NIV

1 I waited patiently for the Lord;

He turned to me and heard my cry

2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,

out of the mud and mire;

3 He set my feet on a rock

and gave me a firm place to stand.

He put a new song in my mouth,

a hymn of praise to our God.

Many will see and fear

and put their trust in the Lord.

4 Blessed is the man

who makes the Lord his trust,

who does not look to the proud,

to those who turn aside to false gods.
